MOSCOW, November 28. /TASS/. Uganda expects Russia to invest in the production of goods and services, as well as its infrastructure development, the country’s President Yoweri Museveni told the Primakov Readings forum.
"We need economic development and transformation. <…> Infrastructure means roads, railways, electricity, computer technologies as a backbone network. Here ties with such countries as Russia and China are required, <…> investments in the production of goods and services. Here investors from Russia may come, invest, produce goods, services," he said.
Moreover, the president noted such factors as the development of human resources, educational activities, cooperation with other countries and with each other, as well as markets. "A market is needed when someone produces some product or service. We have local markets, meaning Uganda, East Africa, the African continent with free trade, but we need other markets as well, for example, the market of Russia, China, India, Middle East and West unless they lay down unacceptable conditions," he explained.
The Primakov Readings international forum is being held in Moscow on November 27-28. It is an annual international research and expert forum dedicated to the memory of Russian statesman and diplomat Yevgeny Primakov (1929-2015).
