Mohammed Takala also said collaboration between the parliaments of the countries is important in strengthening their economic ties
MOSCOW, November 28. /TASS/. Libya is hoping to achieve a breakthrough in relations with Russia to push them to the next level, said Mohammed Takala, head of Libya's High State Council.
"Through contacts like this, we are hoping to make a breakthrough in our relations and bring them to a potentially new and better level," he said at a meeting with Russian Federation Council Chairwoman Valentina Matviyenko.
Takala also said collaboration between the parliaments of the countries is important in strengthening their economic ties.
"We know that the work of parliaments is extremely important in the context of lawmaking in all countries. It helps the executive branch, governments, to do the job properly. It also helps strengthen economic ties. We can work to make them even better," he went on to say.
