Egypt receives Israel, Hamas’ lists of people to be released
They included 13 Israelis and 39 Palestinians
CAIRO, November 26. /TASS/. Egypt has received from both Israel and Hamas lists with the names of people who are to be release on November 26, Diaa Rashwan, the head of Egypt's State Information Service (SIS), said.
"The Egyptian authorities received on Sunday the list of hostages held in the Gaza Strip, which include 13 Israelis," he told a news conference.
According to Rashwan, Israel, in turn, will release 39 Palestinians from Israeli prisons. "The exchange between the sides is scheduled for today (November 26 - TASS)," he stressed.
"The Palestinian-Israeli ceasefire has been faultlessly in force for the third day in a row thanks to Egypt’s intensive efforts jointly with brothers in Qatar," he said, adding that his country continues its assistance to people in the Gaza Strip.
According to Rashwan, more than 26,000 tons of medical products, more than 9,600 tons of food, and more than 7,000 tons of water have been delivered to the enclave since October 21. As many as 2,056 trucks with humanitarian cargoes have entered the Gaza Strip from Egypt over this period. Egypt has received 353 wounded Palestinians and 292 people who accompanied them. More than 8,500 foreigners have left the Gaza Strip via the Rafah crossing.
Hamas announced on November 22 that an agreement on a four-day humanitarian ceasefire in the Gaza Strip had been reached through the mediation of Qatar and Egypt. The agreement stipulates the release of 50 women and children under the age of 19 who are held in Gaza in exchange for the release of 150 women and children under the age of 19 from Israeli prisons.
A four-day ceasefire came into force in the Gaza Strip from 8:00 a.m. local time (5:00 a.m. GMT) on November 24.
