Israeli intelligence service interrogating Al-Shifa hospital’s director — IDF
The IDF has been conducting a mop-up operation at Al-Shifa hospital since last week
TEL AVIV, November 25. /TASS/. The Israeli intelligence service officers are interrogating the director of the Al-Shifa hospital, located in the Gaza Strip, to obtain information about the infrastructure of the Palestinian radical Hamas movement on the site of this medical center, the official representative of the Israel Defense Forces, Doron Spielman told a briefing.
"Yes, he was detained by Israeli forces. Currently, we are obtaining information from him and asking questions about the fact that he was the head of the hospital under which an entire terrorist network operated. This process will continue and will move through the proper channels," he said in response to a request to comment on the fate of the hospital director.
"We're trying to get information. It was a good idea to detain him. how could he not know what was going on? We have video footage of the hostages, captured by CCTV cameras in his hospital," Spielman added.
"Under the hospital we found tunnels, in it we found weapons, and in its courtyard - the bodies of two dead. I believe that an average director of the hospital, if such strange circumstances were discovered, would report this. We are investigating this with him and after a proper analysis of the situation We will make progress in this regard," he concluded.
The IDF has been conducting a mop-up operation at Al-Shifa hospital since last week. The Israeli army said there were several underground complexes and a tunnel beneath the medical center where radicals were sheltering and holding hostages kidnapped in the October 7 attack.
On November 23, the Israel Defense Forces and the General Security Service (Shabak) reported that the director of Al-Shifa hospital in Gaza was detained and handed to Shabak for interrogation after receiving evidence that the medical facility was a Hamas command center.
