LONDON, November 24. /TASS/. The next UK general election to the House of Commons may be held as early as in spring 2024, The Daily Telegraph reported citing government sources.
According to the report, high-ranking officials are now discussing the possibility that the Chancellor of the Exchequer presents his Spring Budget 2024 in February. The procedure usually takes place in March. The Daily Telegraph suggests that such plans may indicate possible preparations for holding the election as early as in spring.
The vote should take place no later than January 2025. Earlier, the British media suggested October or November 2024 as the most likely timeframe.
