The information has not yet been officially confirmed
LONDON, November 24. /TASS/. The man who stabbed three small children and a woman in downtown Dublin on Thursday was probably a foreign citizen, The Daily Mail wrote.
The information has not yet been officially confirmed. Earlier, police said that the attack, which occurred near a Catholic school, was committed by a man in his 50s. As a result, three children and a 30-year-old woman were injured. They were hospitalized and diagnosed with injuries of varying degrees. The suspected attacker was detained.
Shortly after the incident, hundreds of ultra-right protestors chanting anti-immigrant slogans started to gather in Dublin city center. According to the newspaper, special police and army units have been dispatched in the area. The rioters have already set on fire several police vehicles, a double-decker bus and a tram. They also threw pyrotechnics and bottles at riot police officers and looted at least one store.
Earlier, it was reported that doctors were fighting for the life of a five-year-old girl, who is in critical condition. The injuries of a five year-old boy and a six-year-old girl were less serious and not life-threatening. The 30-year-old woman is in serious condition.
The attacker also received serious injuries. According to RTE, the spree was stopped by passers-by, who restrained the attacker and kicked the knife out of his hands. Police ruled out a terror attack at first, but later said all versions of the incident were under investigation, which is still at its early stages. The attacker’s motives are unknown at this point.
