LONDON, November 24. /TASS/. Protests engulfed downtown Dublin after a 50-year-old man attacked three children and a woman with a knife, the RTÉ Irish public service broadcaster reported.
Protesters threw fireworks at police officers and set a police car on fire. At least one police officer suffered injuries. Additional police forces were deployed to the city center.
Mary Lou McDonald, leader of the Sinn Fein opposition party, wrote on X (formerly Twitter) that the incident had occurred outside an Irish-speaking primary school. Three children, a 30-year-old woman and the attacker himself suffered injuries.
