Hamas says 200 trucks to enter Gaza every day during humanitarian ceasefire
The Israeli Air Force is expected to suspend all flights over southern Gaza for the duration of the ceasefire
CAIRO, November 23. /TASS/. As many as 200 trucks carrying aid will enter the Gaza Strip every day during the upcoming humanitarian ceasefire, the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades (the military wing of Hamas) said in a statement on Telegram.
"As many as 200 trucks carrying humanitarian supplies and medicines will deliver [aid] across Gaza every day," the statement reads. According to Hamas, four fuel tankers will also enter the enclave every day.
The Palestinian movement confirmed that the humanitarian truce would take effect at 7:00 a.m. local time (5:00 a.m. GMT) on November 24 and would last four days. "Three Palestinian prisoners, including women and children, will be released in exchange for every Zionist hostage," the statement said. Hamas added that "50 hostages will be freed in four days."
The Israeli Air Force is expected to suspend all flights over southern Gaza for the duration of the ceasefire. In addition, "Israeli aircraft will suspend flights over Gaza City and the northern part of the enclave for six hours every day, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m."
Qatari Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Majed Al-Ansari announced earlier that the humanitarian ceasefire between Israel and Hamas would begin at 5:00 a.m. GMT on Friday.
Hamas announced on November 22 that an agreement on a humanitarian ceasefire in the Gaza Strip had been reached through the mediation of Qatar and Egypt. The movement confirmed that the agreement stipulated the release of 50 women and children under the age of 19 who are held in Gaza in exchange for the release of 150 women and children under the age of 19 from Israeli prisons.
