Ukraine receives about $400 mln from World Bank under UK guarantees — ministry
According to the statement, the funding will be used to partially reimburse pension payments and pay for medical workers
MOSCOW, November 23. /TASS/. Ukraine received about $400 million under the UK guarantees through the World Bank trust fund, the Ukrainian Ministry of Finance reported on its website.
"The state budget of Ukraine received about $400 million under UK guarantees through the World Bank Trust Fund. The funds raised are part of additional financing for the project "Supporting public expenditures to ensure sustainable public administration in Ukraine," the statement says.
According to the department, the funding will be used to partially reimburse pension payments and pay for medical workers.
"The loan is provided on preferential terms, the repayment period [is] 19 years with a five-year grace period," the ministry noted.
On September 25, the Ministry of Finance reported that Ukraine received $100 million from the World Bank under the UK guarantees. The ministry noted that the funds will be used to partially compensate for expenses of the state budget of Ukraine made to reimburse pension payments for July 2023.
