DUBAI, November 22. /TASS/. The list of the Israeli hostages that the radical Palestinian movement Hamas is willing to release has been handed over to Tel Aviv through mediators, Al Arabiya reported citing sources.
Earlier, Moussa Abu Marzouk, a member of Hamas’ political bureau, said in an interview with the Qatari television channel Al Jazeera that most of the 50 hostages who will be released by Hamas are foreign citizens. The hostages will be released to the staff of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), who then will hand them over to Egypt.
After an hours-long special meeting on the night of November 22, Israel’s government approved a plan envisaging the return of at least 50 hostages from the Gaza Strip in the next four days, after which the military operation in the enclave will restart. On the morning of November 22, the Israeli Justice Ministry published a list of 300 Palestinian prisoners who could be released under the deal.
In the meantime, Hamas said on November 22 that it had sealed an agreement on a four-day humanitarian truce in the Gaza Strip with Israel, which was brokered by Qatar and Egypt. Hamas confirmed that under the agreement, 50 women and children under 19 held in the enclave would be released in exchange for prisoners in Israeli jails.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said that Israel would halt hostilities for a day for the release of ten more hostages. According to Tel Aviv, more than 200 people are held by militants.
