G20 believes conflict in Gaza must be resolved via two-state solution — Modi
The Indian Prime Minister stressed that the G20 leaders condemned all forms of terrorism
NEW DELHI, November 22. /TASS/. G20 member states agree to resolution of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict based on the two-state principle to ensure stability in the Middle East, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said.
"The two-state solution is necessary for establishment of stability in the Western Asia," Modi said, speaking after the online G20 Summit in New Delhi.
The Prime Minister also noted that the G20 leaders condemned all forms of terrorism. According to Modi, the states agree that the humanitarian aid for the Palestinians must be delivered as soon as possible.
The situation in the Middle East has escalated abruptly after an armed infiltration of HAMAS militants from the Gaza Strip into Israel. The HAMAS movement considers this attack a response to the actions of Israeli authorities towards the Al Aqsa Mosque at the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. Israel announced a complete blockade of the Gaza Strip and started carrying out strikes on the enclave and certain areas in Lebanon and Syria. Clashes are also taking place in the West Bank.
