EU may be left to fend for itself with Ukrainian conflict, Hungary’s Orban says
"If the more skeptical Republicans come to power, then, quite possibly, Europe will have to deal with the huge geopolitical conflict on its own, to find an almost impossible political solution to the problem and bear all the costs," Viktor Orban added
BUDAPEST, November 22. /TASS/. The European Union should prepare to fend for itself with the conflict in Ukraine, because the US could soon exit the fray, Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban said in Zurich.
The Prime Minister believes that, if the US Republican Party wins the presidential and congressional elections in 2024, US policy will "take a sharp turn."
"If the more skeptical Republicans come to power, then, quite possibly, Europe will have to deal with the huge geopolitical conflict on its own, to find an almost impossible political solution to the problem and bear all the costs," Orban said, referring to the Ukrainian conflict.
"Meanwhile, Europe is impoverished, and it does not have money for such a crisis," the Prime Minister said, according to MTI. He opined that the EU will not be able to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
