Israeli helicopters, fighter jets strike Lebanon, IDF reports

TEL AVIV, November 18. /TASS/. The Israeli military has carried out another strike on Lebanon in response to shelling by the Shiite organization Hezbollah in border areas, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) press service said in a statement.

"Some time ago, Israel Defense Forces’ fighter jets and helicopters struck terrorist targets in Lebanon in the past day in response to Hezbollah’s shelling of Israeli territory," the statement said.

The IDF said that among the targets were Hezbollah’s infrastructure, the command centers and military posts used by supporters of the Shiite organization.

"In addition, earlier in the day, the Israel Defense Forces detected [a shell] launched from Lebanon at an IDF post near Mount Har-Dov, which landed in open terrain. No casualties have been reported so far. In response, the IDF conducted a strike on the source of the fire and the launcher used [for the attack]," the press service reported.
