Israel announces another four-hour ceasefire
According to the IDF, the route will pass along Salah al-Din Road to the south of the enclave
TEL AVIV, November 16. /TASS/. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has announced another suspension of hostilities in Gaza City from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. GMT, Israeli army spokesman Avihai Edri said on his X page (formerly Twitter).
"Today we are putting into effect a tactical pause in fighting during the day, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. GMT - TASS) in the areas of Shuja'iyya and Al-Turkman [in southern Gaza City]," Edri wrote.
He also pointed out that the humanitarian corridor for evacuating residents out of the Tel al-Hawa, Sabra, Zeitoun and Jabaliya neighborhoods (also part of Gaza City) will be operational until 4:00 p.m. local time (2:00 p.m. GMT). The route will pass along Salah al-Din Road to the south of the enclave.
The IDF has announced the suspension of hostilities in different parts of the enclave for humanitarian purposes every day since November 12. On November 12, the military announced a four-hour cessation of hostilities in the Jabaliya refugee camp area in the northern Gaza Strip. On November 13, the IDF suspended hostilities in the Palestinian town of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip near the border with Egypt for the same period. On November 14 and 15, the IDF announced a pause in fighting in Gaza City and the north of the enclave, respectively, to allow the remaining residents to leave.
