WASHINGTON, November 16. /TASS/. A US destroyer has shot down an unmanned aerial vehicle above the Red Sea, the US Department of Defense’s press service has told TASS.

"The USS Thomas Hudner (DDG 116) engaged a drone that originated from Yemen and was heading in the direction of the ship," the press service said. "The drone was destroyed and there were no US casualties."

The press service added that no additional details were available at this time.

Earlier, Reuters reported that the incident occurred on Wednesday morning. It is still unknown whether the drone carried any weapons.
