Russian Emergencies minister promises to continue evacuation to last Russian
The ministry’s advance team is constantly working at the border crossing to help Russians coming out
MOSCOW, November 14. /TASS/. The Russian Emergencies Ministry's task force in Egypt near the Rafah checkpoint will work until the last Russian leaves the Gaza Strip, Minister Alexander Kurenkov told TASS.
"We will fly, move, and the work of the entire Emergencies Ministry advance team will continue as long as necessary. To the last person. If it is necessary to wait for one person, we will wait for this one person, a Russian citizen," he said. The official emphasized that the operation to evacuate Russians from Gaza will be considered successful only when the last Russian citizen leaves the territory.
The ministry’s advance team is constantly working at the border crossing to help Russians coming out. "They work absolutely harmoniously, the mechanism is calibrated," Kurenkov emphasized.
The evacuation from the Gaza Strip of Russian citizens who found themselves in the zone of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict is organized by the Russian Emergencies Ministry in coordination with diplomats. The first group of 70 Russian citizens crossed the Rafah checkpoint into the territory of Egypt on November 12. In total, 169 Russian citizens crossed the checkpoint in two days. According to Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, more than 1,000 people have registered for evacuation from the Gaza Strip, including "Russian citizens, compatriots, and 300 minors."
