Patients trapped in fire inside Al-Quds Hospital in northern Gaza Strip — TV
According to the media, there are currently 90 patients and about 9,000 people taking shelter inside the hospital
DUBAI, November 14. /TASS/. Patients and injured people have been trapped inside after a fire erupted at Al-Quds Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip, Al Hadath television reported, citing the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS).
Though the TV channel did not elaborate, there are some 9,000 displaced people inside the hospital, it said.
Meanwhile, Al Jazeera reported, citing the PRCS, that the sole power generator at Al-Amal Hospital in Khan Yunis in the southern Palestinian enclave had stopped working. There are currently 90 patients and about 9,000 people taking shelter inside the hospital.
Arab media reported on November 8 that Israel had struck the hospital. Israel, however, said that the strikes had been delivered on Hamas militants in a building adjacent to the hospital, which had entailed secondary blasts. The Israeli side has repeatedly accused the Palestinian radical movement of organizing its infrastructure facilities in the exact vicinity of civilian structures, as well as in tunnels under them.
On Monday, the PRCS reported that a convoy of vehicles that had set off to evacuate patients and staff from Al-Quds Hospital was forced to turn back amid heavy gunfire in the vicinity of the hospital. On Tuesday morning, the Palestinian organization said there were about 300 people, including medics, patients and those injured, inside the hospital.
