Kiev refused from Bastion cars supplied by France to Armenia — newspaper

PARIS, November 13. /TASS/. The Bastion armored personnel carriers France has supplied to Armenia were originally meant for Ukraine but rejected by Kiev, the Ouest France newspaper reported on Monday.
According to the newspaper, Ukraine’s authorities refused from these 12.5-ton vehicles, saying that they are poorly protected against artillery and anti-tank missiles.
France’s La Tribune newspaper revealed plans to supply Kiev with 20 Bastion cars back in October 2022.
An agreement on supplying these vehicles to Armenia was signed the two countries’ defense ministers, Sebastien Lecornu of France and Suren Papikyan of Armenia, at their talks in Paris in October 2023.
On Monday, the Azerbaijani foreign ministry condemned France’s supplies of Bastion vehicles to Armenia.
