UNSC `closer than ever’ to passing resolution on Middle East, says Malta’s UN ambassador
Vanessa Frazier did not provide details on the text of the document
UNITED NATIONS, November 11. /TASS/. The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) is now closer than ever to a resolution on the conflict between Palestine and Israel, the Permanent Representative of Malta to the United Nations, Vanessa Frazier, told reporters on Friday.
"We are closer than ever," she said when asked to comment on the progress toward a new draft resolution on the Middle East.
Frazier refused to provide any details about the text of the resolution, saying that everything was "all about words."
Although the UN Security Council discussed four draft resolutions on the conflict between Palestine and Israel in October, it has so far failed to pass any. Currently, ten permanent SC members are working on a new document. It is expected to comprise a number of provisions from previous draft resolutions on the situation in the Middle East.
