People 'cannot leave' two hospitals in Gaza surrounded by Israeli tanks — director
"We do not have electricity, no oxygen for the patients, we do not have medicine and water," Mustafa al-Kahlout said
NEW YORK, November 10. /TASS/. People cannot leave the hospital complex housing the Al Nasr and Al Rantisi hospitals in northern Gaza, as it is completely surrounded by Israeli tanks, Mustafa al-Kahlout, who heads the hospitals, said.
"We are completely surrounded, there are tanks outside the hospital, and we cannot leave," al-Kahlout told CNN.
The television channel reported that the hospital complex, which includes the Al Nasr and Al Rantisi hospitals, is located in northern Gaza, where ground fighting between the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Hamas was reported.
"We do not have electricity, no oxygen for the patients, we do not have medicine and water," al-Kahlout said.
"We do not know our fate," he added, indicating that neither the Red Cross nor other international organizations had contacted them.
The Al Mayadeen television channel reported earlier that Israeli armored vehicles had cordoned off roads to several city hospitals, including Al Nasr, Al Rantisi, and others.
Tensions flared up in the Middle East after Hamas militants from the Gaza Strip attacked Israeli territory on October 7. Hamas views its attack as a response to Israeli authorities’ steps against the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. Israel declared a total blockade of the Gaza Strip and launched bombardments of the enclave and some areas in Lebanon and Syria. Clashes are also reported in the West Bank.
