Vietnam keen on developing ties with Russia — minister

HANOI, November 9. /TASS/. Vietnam values its relations with Russia and favors further cooperation, Minister of Public Security of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (SRV) To Lam stated at the meeting with Russian Emergencies Minister Alexander Kurenkov.
"Vietnam has always valued the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia, making it even more effective, practical, sustainable and trust-based," the Vietnamese minister stressed.
He also noted that on the basis of good longstanding relations between the two states, cooperation has been established between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, leading to excellent results in a range of fields. The two sides regularly exchange practical experience in preventing and avoiding emergencies and take part in exhibitions and scientific conferences, To Lam said.
The Russian emergencies minister is paying a working visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on November 9-10.
