Hamas regrets Arab countries incapable of making practical decisions on Israel
The Palestinian radical group warned that they could lose "their legitimacy in the eyes of the people and the whole world" if they find themselves "unable to offer something to the people who are fighting for their freedom and defending Islamic shrines"
CAIRO, November 8. /TASS/. Arab nations cannot make any practical decisions regarding Israel, Saleh al-Arouri, deputy head of the radical Palestinian movement Hamas’ political bureau, said.
"The entire Arab and Islamic world and their official organizations cannot make a single practical decision," al-Arouri said, arguing that they may lose "their legitimacy in the eyes of the people and the whole world," if they find themselves "unable to offer something to people who are fighting for their freedom and protecting Islamic shrines."
"I urge the Arab and Islamic systems to make practical decisions against the occupation and against relations with the United States that employs all its might to stand against our people," the senior Hamas representative said, according to his speech posted on Hamas’ Telegram channel.
In addition, Al-Arouri voiced regret that Yemen’s steps, which has declared a war on Israel, are been obstructed not only by the United States, but also by Arab nations.
"Yemen has officially declared war, is launching missiles and drones towards [Israel]. Regrettably, this is opposed not only by the Americans, but also by Arab countries," he said.
Tensions flared up in the Middle East after Hamas militants from the Gaza Strip attacked Israeli territory on October 7. Hamas views its attack as a response to Israeli authorities’ steps against the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. Israel declared a total blockade of the Gaza Strip and launched bombardments of the enclave and some areas in Lebanon and Syria. Clashes are also reported in the West Bank.
