MOSCOW, November 8. /TASS/. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said that Kiev will continue its counteroffensive in 2023 and 2024, despite the current difficulties.

"We have a plan, we have certain cities, certain directions, we have a goal, where we will go, in which direction we will conduct the offensive," Zelensky said, speaking via video link at a conference organized by Reuters and broadcast on Youtube.

The Ukrainian president admitted that "there are certain difficulties now," although "some people" were counting on the quick success of the Ukrainian counteroffensive. He blamed the West for the failure of Ukrainian plans, saying that the country had received fewer weapons than it had expected.

"We"ll try to show the result this year." Zelensky said. "We have a plan for next year, but I can't give you the details," he noted.

The Ukrainian president's announcement of plans to continue the counteroffensive came amid earlier comments by Ukrainian top military commander Valery Zaluzhny, who said that the Ukrainian conflict was in a stalemate and opined that it was impossible to achieve a breakthrough on the front. Zelensky's administration expressed dissatisfaction with the commander-in-chief's revelations, while the president himself said he disagreed with Zaluzhny's opinion.
