According to the TV channel’s sources, the US military responded by "[cross-border] shelling of areas in the territory of Iraq."
The Islamic Resistance in Iraq movement claimed responsibility for the attack on its Telegram channel.
Pentagon Press Secretary Patrick Ryder said on October 31 that a total of 27 attacks on US bases in the region had taken place since October 17, including 16 in Iraq and 11 in Syria. Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin, in turn, demanded an end to attacks on the US forces deployed to the Middle East, which, according to him, were supported by Iran. Austin said that 21 troops had suffered minor wounds in the attacks.
