Israel struck over 14,000 targets in the Gaza Strip over past month
The official representative of the country's Defense Army, Daniel Hagari, announced the destruction of more than 100 tunnel entrances and over 4 thousand weapons
TEL AVIV, November 7. /TASS/. In just one month of its military operation against Hamas, the Israel Defense Forces delivered strikes on more than 14,000 targets in the Gaza Strip, IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari said during an evening press conference on Tuesday.
In his words, the IDF demolished over 100 tunnel entrances and destroyed more than 4,000 weapons of various types.
The spokesman added that the IDF also "killed many HAMAS terrorists, including in the rank of commanders."
Hagari also said that many targets destroyed by the IDF have been located in mosques, kindergartens and residential quarters.
"This shows that HAMAS is cynically using its population as a human shield," the spokesman said.
In his opinion, despite certain achievements made by the IDF, "it will be a long war, and there is still a long road ahead."
"Hamas terrorists tell themselves that there will be a ceasefire. There won’t be one. We are moving forward," Hagari said.
The situation in the Middle East sharply escalated following an incursion of Hamas militants from the Gaza Strip into Israel on October 7, accompanied by killings of residents of Israeli settlements near the border and taking more than 200 hostages, including children, women and elderly people. Hamas regards the attack as a response to Israeli actions against the Al-Aqsa Mosque on Jerusalem's Temple Mount. Israel has declared a complete siege of the Gaza Strip and has started delivering strikes on that area and parts of Lebanon and Syria. Clashes are also taking place in the West Bank.
On October 27, the IDF’s chief spokesman, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, announced the expansion of Israel’s ground offensive in Gaza.
