Three suspects in alleged ‘Russian cyberfraud scheme’ extradited to US

NEW YORK, November 7. /TASS/. Three people, accused by the United States of being related to a "Russian cyberfraud scheme," have been extradited to the US, the US Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York said on Tuesday.
According to the statement, Ruslan Nurullin was extradited from Morocco, Alexander Popan - from Germany and Nikolay Sofinsky - from Romania.
"Nurullin, Popan and Sofinskij allegedly engaged in multiple reshipping schemes, utilizing online communications to execute their scams, leading to $48 million in losses for their victims.," the statement says.
According to the document, the trio is suspected of "stealing sensitive personal information, including social security numbers, and using it to buy and then resell electronics and luxury goods."
The US authorities claim that the suspects were engaged in unlawful operations while staying on the territory of Russia, the Commonwealth of Independent States and Eastern Europe between 2013 and 2018.
