MOSCOW, November 7. /TASS/. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky signed a decree imposing sanctions on nine foreign companies including those associated with Russian businessman Mikhail Fridman, according to the RBC-Ukraine agency.

The document, published on the website of the head of the Ukrainian state, puts into effect the Security Council's decision on sanctions for a period of two to 10 years against companies located in Cyprus, Luxembourg and Liechtenstein.

The RBC-Ukraine, in particular, links the Russian businessman with Alfa Finance Holdings Limited, International Distribution Systems Limited and Erasmony Limited. The agency did not, however, specify in what way Fridman was related to these companies.

The document also states that the sanctions are being introduced at the proposal of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).

In early September, the Security Service of Ukraine charged Fridman with financing Russia’s special military operation. He was also accused of distributing food, clothing and other items to Russian soldiers. Also, according to the Security Service of Ukraine, the businessman’s insurance companies also took out insurance policies on military equipment, as well as the lives and health of Russian military personnel in the special operation zone.
