Lithuania investigating luxury cars coming into Russia via third countries

According to Lithuanian Railways, such cars enter Russia after moving through Lithuania to Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan

VILNIUS, November 7. /TASS/. Lithuanian Railways said it has approached the Prosecutor General’s Office with a request to investigate a possible scheme that circumvents the EU's anti-Russian sanctions by delivering high-end cars to Russia via third countries.

"We request that the prosecutor's office investigate potential violations of the sanctions regime, whereby high-end cars are delivered to Russia via third countries," the railways said.

According to Lithuanian Railways, such cars enter Russia after moving through Lithuania to Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

The railway unilaterally decided to refuse to transport any cars with a price tag over 50,000 euros.
