CAIRO, November 2. /TASS/. A group of more than 400 citizens with dual citizenship have crossed from Gaza into Egypt via the Rafah border crossing, the Al Ekhbariya TV channel said.
According to it, "20 ambulances are preparing to enter the border crossing to transport injured Palestinians." It is also expected that about 100 trucks with humanitarian aid for the population will be sent from Egypt to the Palestinian enclave via the crossing during the day.
Earlier, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said that the country's authorities were preparing to assist in the evacuation of about 7,000 foreign nationals from more than 60 countries out of Gaza. On Wednesday, the Al-Ahram newspaper reported that the Egyptian Foreign Ministry would issue transit visas to persons with dual citizenship on the condition that foreign diplomatic missions ensured their further evacuation home.
On November 1, a total of 361 foreign nationals crossed into Egypt from the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing. According to incoming information, they are mostly dual nationals and employees of international organizations. In addition, 45 Palestinians injured in Israeli shelling of Gaza were also evacuated to Egypt. The evacuation of the injured and foreign nationals is expected to continue in the coming days.
