Permanent Representative of the People's Republic of China to the world organization Zhang Jun said that the Security Council's agenda will also include Afghanistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Libya, and the issue of extending sanctions against Somalia
UNITED NATIONS, November 1. /TASS/. The settlement of the conflict between Palestine and Israel will be the top priority for China's presidency in the UN Security Council, said Zhang Jun, China's envoy to the UN.
"The top priority for our presidency, as well as for the entire Security Council, will be to resolve the serious Israeli issue or the Gaza conflict. This issue has been at the center of the council's attention for the past few weeks and will remain the focus of the council's work as well as the Chinese presidency," he said at a news conference dedicated China’s UNSC presidency in November.
The diplomat added that Afghanistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Libya, and the issue of extending sanctions on Somalia will also be on the Security Council's agenda.
"We will also continue to pay attention to the situation in Ukraine," Zhang Jun said.
He said China will build the work of the UN Security Council not only based on a pre-determined schedule, but will also react to international developments.
