MOSCOW, November 1. /TASS/. Israel is not at war with Yemen in spite of statements made by the Ansar Allah (Houthi) rebels, Israeli Ambassador to Moscow Alexander Ben Zvi told TASS.

"First of all, as far as we know, three missiles were launched. Not a single one reached its target. But the most important thing is that we did not declare war on any country," the diplomat said, replying to a question as to whether Israel was at war with Yemen. "Yes, we declared war on Hamas. But we did not declare war [on Yemen], <…> even though Yemen has always been on our list of hostile countries. Like, for example, Iran and Syria. They have always been on this list but we did not declare war. What they are doing is their problem," the diplomat said.

Earlier, Houthi spokesman Yahya Saria said that the Houti rebels had delivered a series of drone and ballistic and cruise missile attacks against Israel. He also insisted that launching missiles and drones was "the third operation in support of oppressed brothers in Palestine."

In Yemen, the confrontation between the country’s military and supporters of the Ansar Allah (Houthis) rebel movement has been going on since August 2014. It entered its most active phase after a coalition led by Saudi Arabia invaded the country in March 2015. In April 2022, the parties to the conflict managed to agree on a ceasefire that expired on October 2 but consultations did not stop.
