The UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East pointed out that the aid it receives is not enough to meet the growing needs of the population

CAIRO, October 29. /TASS/. The UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) reported the looting of several humanitarian aid warehouses in the Gaza Strip.

"Thousands of people broke into several UNRWA warehouses and distribution centers in the central and southern areas of the Gaza Strip and took away wheat flour, basic commodities and hygiene products," the Al Arabiya TV channel quoted the agency's report as saying. According to the agency, one of UNRWA's warehouses stores humanitarian supplies that arrive in the Palestinian enclave from Egypt.

The agency pointed out that the aid it receives is not enough to meet the growing needs of the population.

Tensions flared up again in the Middle East on October 7 when militants from the radical Palestinian group Hamas staged a surprise attack on Israeli territory from the Gaza Strip, killing residents of Israeli border settlements and taking more than 200 hostages, including children, women and the elderly. Hamas described its attack as a response to the aggressive actions of Israeli authorities against the Al-Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem’s Old City. Israel has announced a total blockade of the Gaza Strip and has been delivering air strikes on Gaza as well as some parts of Lebanon and Syria. Clashes are also underway in the West Bank.
