US base in Syria's Al-Hasakah Governorate attacked by drones
The responsibility for the attack on the US facility, located near the Al-Jebsa oil field, was claimed by the Islamic Front for the Iraqi Resistance group, the Al Mayadeen TV channel reported
BEIRUT, October 29. /TASS/. The US military base in Al-Shaddadah in the northeastern Syrian Al-Hasakah Governorate has come under drone attack, the Al Mayadeen TV channel reported.
The responsibility for the attack on the US facility, located near the Al-Jebsa oil field, was claimed by the Islamic Front for the Iraqi Resistance group, which includes fighters of Shiite armed groups that fought against terrorists of the Islamic State terrorist group (banned in Russia).
Earlier, Al Mayadeen reported a drone attack on another US base located near the Al-Omar oil field in eastern Syria. The Islamic Front for the Iraqi Resistance group also claimed responsibility. The group’s spokesman Jaafar al-Husseini told the TV channel that "Mujahideen forces have sided with the Palestinian brothers in the Gaza Strip, and to support them, they have targeted US bases."
Since 2015, the US has established nine military bases in northeastern Syria. The largest of them is located in Tell Beydar, north of the administrative center of Al-Hasakah (620 km from Damascus).
