At least 20 killed in air strike on refugee camp in Gaza — Al Jazeera
Some people were wounded as a result of the strike, but their exact number is not given
DUBAI, October 28. /TASS/. At least 20 Palestinians have been killed in an Israeli air strike on the Jabalia refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip, Al Jazeera reported.
According to the TV channel, a densely populated neighborhood was hit in the attack and one of the residential buildings was destroyed. Some people were wounded as a result of the strike, but their exact number is not given. Many are still under the rubble, the TV channel said.
On October 27, Israel Defense Forces Spokesman Daniel Hagari said that Israel was "expanding" its ground military operation in the Gaza Strip. He said that the Israeli Air Force is attacking "terror tunnels, underground combat spaces and additional underground infrastructure" to prepare for a ground operation.
The Al Arabiya and Al Jazeera television channels reported that the Gaza Strip has come under the most intense attack since the Israeli-Palestinian conflict escalated on October 7. The Israel Defense Forces are reported to be launching strikes against several areas in the enclave simultaneously from the air, from the ground and from the sea. Heavy shelling has left the Gaza Strip out of communications and internet services.
