Israeli PM warns of 'horrible consequences' if Hezbollah joins war
"We will have to take action against them and the devastation against Hezbollah will be unimaginable," Benjamin Netanyahu stated
TEL AVIV, October 24. /TASS/. The Lebanon-based Hezbollah organization will regret if it decides to join a war against Israel, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said at a joint press conference with French President Emmanuel Macron.
"If Hezbollah makes the mistake of joining this war in a significant way, it will regret it," he warned. "Like Hamas, they are embedding themselves in the civilian population in Lebanon. We will have to take action against them and the devastation against Hezbollah will be unimaginable. So I hope they hear your warning, our warning, and the warning of the United States not to do so. But if they will, they’ll suffer horrible consequences," Netanyahu added.
Earlier on Tuesday, Israeli President Isaac Herzog said at a meeting with Macron that Israel did not seek a confrontation on its northern border but if Hezbollah dragged it into war, Lebanon "will pay the price."
