Participants in ‘3+3’ format expect Georgia to join platform

TEHRAN, October 24. /TASS/. Participants in the ministerial meeting in the "3+3" format, dedicated to discussing the situation in the South Caucasus, confirmed that the regional consultative platform is open to equal participation of Georgia in its work.
"While positively evaluating the results of this meeting, they reaffirmed the openness of this Platform for equal participation of Georgia," the statement of the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Iran, Russia and Turkey, adopted following the meeting said.
In addition, the ministers agreed to "enhance lasting peace and economic development of the region" and "strengthen bilateral and multilateral consultation and interaction."
The first meeting of the "3+3" format at the level of foreign ministers is taking place in Tehran, with Azerbaijan, Armenia, Iran, Russia, and Turkey's foreign ministers in attendance. The Georgian delegation refused to attend the meeting.
