Russian journalist Dugina’s murder was orchestrated by Ukraine’s security service — WaPo
Kiev originally denounced involvement in the attack, but the denials were reported to be false
WASHINGTON, October 23. /TASS/. The assassination of Russian journalist Darya Dugina was orchestrated by the Ukrainian Security Service, The Washington Post reported, citing security officials with knowledge of the operation.
According to them, Ukrainian operatives had installed a hidden compartment in a crate for a cat in the car of Ukrainian national Natalia Vovk, who was identified by the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) as the principal suspect in the car bombing.
Dugina’s father, philosopher Alexander Dugin, was the intended mark, as the attackers intended to kill him. He and his daughter were expected to travel together. However, Dugina herself was not an innocent victim, officials told the WaPo. Kiev originally denounced involvement in the attack, but the denials were false, officials said. They confirmed that Ukraine’s security service had planned and executed the operation.
On August 20, 2022, the car of Russian reporter Dugina, 29, was blown up in the Moscow Region, killing her.
