DUBAI, October 23. /TASS/. Egypt has suggested creating camps for Gaza refugees in the Palestinian city of Rafah, the Al-Araby Al-Jadeed newspaper reports, citing sources.

According to the sources, Cairo is supposed to control the camps, which will be located three kilometers from the Egyptian border.

The Egyptian authorities plan to provide emergency assistance to the displaced persons arriving to the camps from the northern part of Gaza as they strongly oppose the idea of sending Gaza refugees to the Sinai Peninsula. Meanwhile, the sources point out that refugees in serious condition will be taken to Egyptian hospitals for medical treatment.

Cairo has not made any official comments on the matter yet.
