TOKYO, October 23. /TASS/. The post-Cold War era is over, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said in his policy speech to mark the opening of a parliamentary session.

"The period after the Cold War is over, and big changes are taking place in the new era," the Japanese primer said. He emphasized that diplomacy and the security system are seeing major changes, with conflicts and critical situations erupting globally, as he primarily referred to Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine and the latest escalation between Israel and Palestine.

According to Kishida, at present, the security situation around Japan is now the most difficult since the end of WWII. As an example, he mentioned North Korea’s nuclear missile program.
