Serbia’s Vucic invites Western ambassadors to discuss Kosovo

BELGRADE, September 25. /TASS/. Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic will hold a meeting with the ambassadors of Western countries on September 26 to discuss growing tensions in Kosovo and Metohija, which resulted in the killing of a law enforcement officer of unrecognized Kosovo and four Serbs.
"The President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic will meet on Tuesday with the ambassadors of the Quint countries: the United States, Britain, France, Italy and Germany, as well as with the head of the European Union’s delegation," the presidential staff said in a statement.
The Serbian leader, together with Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic, held a meeting with Russia’s ambassador Alexander Botsan-Kharchenko on Monday. Vucic said after the meeting that the conversation with Botsan-Kharchenko was important and thanked him for "listening to the requests of the Serbian side."
The Russian ambassador said after the talks that the operation by police forces in unrecognized Kosovo, in which four Serbs were killed, was clear evidence the self-declared republic's prime minister, Albin Kurti, was determined to seize the Serb-populated part of the province, while the West provided support for these plans.
In June, Vucic urged the Quint’s ambassadors to do everything in their power to prevent Kurti from triggering a new war in the Balkans.
