BEIRUT, August 31. /TASS/. Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian welcomed the efforts exerted by Russia for normalization of relations between Syria and Turkey. Speaking at a joint press conference with his Syrian counterpart Faisal Mikdad, he noted that progress was achieved on the Syrian-Turkish track during the four-side meeting (Russia, Iran, Syria and Turkey) in Moscow in April.

"All participants of the meeting in Moscow underscored the importance of respect for the Syrian sovereignty and territorial integrity," Abdollahian noted. "The establishment of good-neighborly relations between Damascus and Ankara will facilitate the creation of a positive climate in the region.".
