South Korea expresses regret over North Korean military parade
Koo Byoungsam also urged Pyongyang to suspend the development of nuclear weapons and choose the "right" path
SEOUL, July 31. /TASS/. South Korea's Unification Ministry has expressed "deep regret" over the North Korean military parade in honor of the 70th anniversary of the end of the Korean War and urged Pyongyang to choose the "right" path to peace, the Yonhap news agency reported.
"We deeply regret that despite the 70th anniversary of the end of the conflict, North Korea is continuing confrontation and nuclear weapons development instead of seeking a path to denuclearization and peace," ministry spokesman Koo Byoungsam said at a briefing.
He also urged Pyongyang to suspend the development of nuclear weapons and choose the "right" path.
The ministry's statement came after North Korea displayed its latest reconnaissance drones and Hwasong-18 intercontinental ballistic missiles during a military parade in Pyongyang on July 27.
