Baku accuses Yerevan of jeopardizing regional peace, security — Foreign Ministry

BAKU, April 11. /TASS/. The Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan claimed amid the Tuesday clash at the border that Armenia’s actions jeopardize peace and security in the region.
"The provocations that Armenia carries out against Azerbaijan while trampling on norms and principles of international law not only violate the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the state, but also constitute a serious threat to regional peace and security," the Foreign Ministry said in its statement regarding the skirmish at the border.
According to the Foreign Ministry, "the fact that Armenia’s provocations take place amid serious calls from the international community for talks on peace agreement indicates Yerevan’s lack of interest in a peace process."
"The Azerbaijani Armed Forces will continue to take all necessary measures in order to thwart Armenia’s provocations," the statement underscores.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan announced that Armenian forces opened fire at Azerbaijani positions on the Lachin direction at the border between the two countries. According to the Ministry, some Azerbaijani servicemen were killed or injured in the incident.
