MOSCOW, April 9. /TASS/. Estonia may buy US-made F-16 fighter jets and transfer them to Ukraine, the Baltic republic’s Foreign Minister Urmas Reinsalu said.

‘I think it is very reasonable," Estonia’s top diplomat said in an interview with the Kiev Independent on Saturday.

Reinsalu acknowledged though that his country does not currently have such aircraft at its disposal.

On March 9, the White House said Washington was not currently planning to train Ukrainian pilots to fly F-16 fighter jets. In his turn, US President Joe Biden has said supplying US fighters is not a priority now. However, NBC reported on March 4 that two Ukrainian pilots had arrived in the United States for potential training on Western attack aircraft, including the F-16.

Christopher Grady, Deputy Chairman of the US Chiefs of Staff Committee, said F-16 deliveries to Ukraine would be really expensive, but that the funds could be spent on the necessary munitions for Kiev.
