TEL AVIV, April 8. /TASS/. Israel’s Defense Ministry will send resources and personnel to bolster the police force, the military agency’s press service reported on Saturday.

"After evaluating the current situation this evening (04.08.23), Defense Minister Yoav Gallant instructed the defense agency to provide resources and Israel’s Defense Forces to ensure the operations of the Israeli police," its statement said.

On Friday night, following a terror attack in Tel Aviv, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered to call up all reservist Border Police units and additional military forces.

A tourist from Italy was killed in the terror attack while seven people sustained wounds. According to the press service of the Israeli police, the perpetrator rammed his vehicle into people at the Charles Clore Park on the Tel Aviv waterfront. He attempted to open fire but was immediately neutralized by a police officer who happened to be nearby.
