Bulgaria’s CEC announces delegates of country’s new parliament

The Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria political party in coalition with the Union of Democratic Forces won the country’s snap parliamentary elections gaining 69 seats

SOFIA, April 8. /TASS/. Bulgaria’s Central Election Commission (CEC) has officially announced the names of 240 legislators of the 49th parliament, concluding the election campaign.

Earlier, Bulgarian President Rumen Radev told journalists that he would issue a decree calling the parliament’s first session as soon as the CEC publishes the list of legislators.

The Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria (GERB) political party in coalition with the Union of Democratic Forces won the country’s snap parliamentary elections garnering 26.49% of the vote and gaining 69 seats. The coalition bloc We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria scored 24.57% of the vote (64 seats). The Revival Party was third with 14.16% and 37 seats, followed by the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (13.72%, 36 seats), the Bulgarian Socialist Party for Bulgaria coalition (8.93%, 23 seats) and the party There is Such a People with 4.11% of the vote and 11 seats.

The voter turnout was 40.63%.
