Turkish elections to have no bearing on grain deal implementation — expert
Implementation of the agreement between Russia and the UN on grain and fertilizer exports seems to have become a major issue in Turkish foreign policy, Turkish political scientist and economist Aydin Sezer said
ANKARA, April 7. /TASS/. Turkey will hold firm in its position to implement the grain deal that includes Russian grain and fertilizer exports even if there is a leadership change after the national elections on May 14, Turkish political scientist and economist Aydin Sezer told TASS.
"It can be said that Turkey is holding talks with the West on behalf of Russia as regards [Russian] grain and fertilizer exports. In particular, implementation of the agreement between Russia and the UN [on grain and fertilizer exports] seems to have become a major issue in Turkish foreign policy. Even if a change of government occurs after the elections that will take place on May 14, I believe Turkey will maintain its position on the grain agreements," the expert said.
