Lebanese Army discovers source of rockets fired at Israel — statement

BEIRUT, April 6. /TASS/. Lebanese servicemen and United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) peacekeepers have discovered the location where rockets were launched at Israel near the city of Tyre, and have begun dismantling the equipment, the Lebanese Armed Forces tweeted Thursday.

"An army unit found missile launchers and a number of rockets ready for launch near the settlements of Zibqin and al-Qalila, and work is underway to dismantle them," the statement says.

The Armed Forces also said that Lebanese forces currently patrol the area together with UNFIL peacekeepers.

Earlier on Thursday, the Israel Defense Forces’ press office reported that at least 34 rockets were launched at Israel, with 25 rockets intercepted by air defense systems, and five falling on Israeli territory. Information about the other four rockets is being clarified. According to Israeli media, three people were slightly injured by the shelling. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called emergency meetings with the heads of security agencies.
