MOSCOW, April 5. /TASS/. Frequent meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin are necessary due to the implementation of 28 union programs, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said Wednesday.

"We have set 28 union programs, they have been implemented for about 80% - mostly, by the governments, and our frequent meetings that were noted by the reporters, happen so that there is no hindrance during implementation these programs," Lukashenko said during the meeting with his Russian counterpart Wednesday.

Lukashenko noted that, each time the government "stumbled or stopped somewhere, we [the presidents] met immediately and provided an impetus by making decisions."

"Therefore, having deliberately agreed, we have been working hard on these programs for two years," Lukashenko said.

He noted that a lot has to be done within the Union State, while putting aside, on Putin’s proposal, "the heights that we have been unable to master for a long time and are unable to right now."

Belarus and Russia implement 28 integrational industry programs within the Union State that aim to unify the two countries’ legislation, to equalize business conditions, to build single financial and energy markets, as well as transportation space.
