Poland sends four MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine

WARSAW, April 5. /TASS/. Poland has sent four MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine’s armed forces, Polish President Andrzej Duda announced at a joint news conference with his Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelensky in Warsaw.

"Four MiG-29s that remained in storage have been handed over to the Ukrainian Armed Forces in recent months. Four MiGs are now being given," Reuters quoted Duda as saying.

According to the Polish leader, "We are ready <...> to give six more that are currently being prepared." Duda assumes they could be transferred to Kiev soon.

Poland has 28 MiG-29 fighters. The jets are at an air base in Malbork in northern Poland.

On March 16, Duda said that Kiev would receive the first four MiG-29 fighters from Warsaw in the coming days.
